CLEANING PERSONAL COMPUTERS
The author, Chris James BSc (Hons) was formerly Director of Education of the British Institute of Cleaning Science. Prior to that appointment he was a senior lecturer at Ealing Tertiary College.
The purpose of the booklet is to assist those concerned with the cleaning of personal computers. Sections are devoted to:
- The Cleaner and the Client: Both should agree technical terms and have a clear idea of what is expected. The booklet describes the conditions under which cleaning should, and should not, take place.
- A Guide to good results: This section describes in detail the method whereby the cleaning task should be planned and how the cleaning should be carried out.
- Selection of Materials: Selection of cleaning materials is extremely important when dealing with computers. Included is advice concerning protective gloves, cloths, disposable wipes/tissues, foams, mini-vacs, cotton buds, anti-static and cleaning solutions.
- How Long, How Fast, How Much? This final section discusses how long it should take to clean a personal computer and the interval between cleaning operations.
